I tried to rent a truck from U-Haul online last night. Near the end of the reservation process, they revealed that they would charge a $5 administration fee for making the reservation online. Archive.org records websites for posterity. It's humbling to look back at what some sites used to look like. Here's what this one looked like on November 27, 1999. Here's my first attempt at a website ever - way back in December 1996. If you have a website, it's worth taking a look at what it used to be.
There are a lot of other options, but they're either too simple (read not customizable) or too complicated. It looks like I'll be updating my blog manually for the time being.
They've just released the program for Catalyst Conference. It looks great. This will be my third year attending. I'm glad Erwin McManus will be speaking. I reading his book, An Unstoppable Force, and it's enough to make me want to hear him firsthand.
But really - I won't attend any more conferences until Catalyst in October. Really!
In other news, I'm trying to install Movable Type on my server. It's harder to set up than other blog software, but it looks almost perfect for what I want. Stay tuned.
