Is it a waste of time to respond to criticism of the emerging church?

Some think so. I’m not so sure. I think it’s important, at least for the time being. First, I might learn something. Second, part of my calling right now is to help people in my circles learn from the discussion before writing it off. I might change my mind later, though. I’m sure my wife will tell me when I’m spending too much time. Update: LT responds with a thoughtful answer to this question.
