Hi [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber],

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.
A THOUGHT

I’ve started keeping two lists of books:
  • A priority list, with books I must read
  • A non-priority list, with books I’d like to read
On the priority list, I put an asterisk beside the really important books I want to read soon.

I tend to be an impulsive reader. But then I wonder, “Why am I reading this book when I have so many better ones waiting?” This helps me dial down my impulsiveness to about 10%, where I like it. (One can’t be too rigid!)

Mileage may vary. But if the list of books you want to read keeps getting longer, give it a try. If you have a better approach, please let me know.
A QUOTE

Those people who brag about having read 100 books in a given year ... it's puzzling to me. I honestly wonder what they're doing as they race through books at a pace of 2 per week. Like... how?!?⁣⁣⁣⁣

Personally, I read only ~10 books in 2020. (Aside from children's books, which I read aloud to our children every night before bed). But I chose them very carefully. And thought A LOT about them, waiting to pick up the next one until I fully processed the last.

A RESOURCE

I use the Bible Memory App to memorize Scripture. The website is a little dated, but the app works well for me.
Thanks for reading!
