Hi subscriber,

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.

There are worse things than being wronged.

Most of us are quick to defend our rights. Paul encourages us to lay aside our rights for the sake of the greater good. “Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?” he asks (1 Corinthians 6:7). It’s better than believers suing other believers before the world.

The late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said, “Good Christians, just as they are slow to anger, should be slow to sue.”

Sometimes it’s more strategic for us to lay aside our rights rather than to defend our rights.

Here’s a secret. All over the world there are millions of people who are Christians offering incredible kindness, love, comfort, and care to hurting people. They vastly outnumber the unkind, hypocritical, or violent. They won’t be on the news. They will change the world.

Google Grants offers US$10,000 of in-kind advertising every month that non-profits can use with Google Ads. In Canada, apply through TechSoup, which provides other discounts too.

If you’re wondering how to use that $10,000 grant, consider partnering with CV Outreach, which connects people searching for answers on Google with your local church.
