Hi subscriber,

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.

A church north of Toronto runs The Leadership Series, an ongoing conference designed to challenge and equip people for stronger leadership in their home, workplace, and community. Another church I know runs an annual conference, inviting speakers to help build the body of Christ. I’m attending an online retreat this week with about 40 pastors, learning from a well-known Bible teacher.

You don’t have to be a huge church or network to organize a mini-conference. Some of the best speakers are eager to come and share their expertise. I’m sometimes surprised how easy it is to contact some of the top scholars and authors in the world and get them to speak.

If you lead a church or some other organization, it’s worth considering running your own conference and inviting a great speaker. It’s work, but it’s probably easier than you think.

“Understanding meta-trends is nowhere near as important as understanding your local congregation's heart, context and calling. I don’t want to be a cultural expert but ignorant pastor.”

I didn’t know how much I liked stickers until I started visiting Sticker Mule’s deals page. They post new deals there almost every week. Stickers are fun!
