Hi [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber],

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.
A THOUGHT

Christians do well when they learn to counterbalance.
  • When most people read social media posts that have been written in the past 24 hours, wise Christians must go back and read ancient wisdom.
  • When most feel the pull of continual distraction, wise Christians develop healthy boundaries around use of technology as part of their discipleship.
  • As life speeds up, wise Christians also learn how to slow down.
  • When most cancel their enemies, wise Christians choose to love them instead.
I could go on. Part of living wisely is counterbalancing the unhealthy temptations we face in every age.
A QUOTE

This quote applies to more than political leadership:

“Nothing is more dangerous in wartime than to live in the temperamental atmosphere of a Gallup Poll, always feeling one’s pulse and taking one’s temperature. I see that a speaker over the weekend said that this was a time when leaders should keep their ears to the ground. All I can say is that the British nation will find it very hard to look up to leaders who are detected in that somewhat ungainly posture.”

(Winston Churchill)
