Hi [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber],

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.
A THOUGHT

The kingdom of God doesn’t look like much most of the time. Jesus compared it to a mustard seed. It starts small, but grows in surprising ways (Matthew 13:31-32).

It often looks like God’s kingdom is not as powerful as other structures in the world, but it’s outlasted them all.

“That little mustard seed Jesus planted in Galilee two millennia ago, has grown into a tree—the biggest, longest-living kingdom in history!” writes Douglas Sean O’Donnell. “The Egyptian Empire? The Assyrian Empire? The Babylonian Empire? The Aztec Empire? The Ottoman Empire? The Mongol Empire? Christianity has beat them all by persisting for 2,000 years and counting.” And it’s everywhere.

If you ever get discouraged, find stories of where the kingdom is thriving against the odds. Hang around some church planters. Look to some out-of-the-way place and discover what God is doing there.

The kingdom’s easy to overlook, and it’s unstoppable.
A QUOTE

“Mission begins with a kind of explosion of joy. The news that the rejected and crucified Jesus is alive is something that cannot possibly be suppressed. It must be told. Who could be silent about such a fact? The mission of the Church in the pages of the New Testament is like the fallout from a vast explosion, a radioactive fallout which is not lethal but life-giving.”

It’s a digest with weather and a summary of newsletters and tweets personalized for you.

As one website says, “MailBrew addresses the incoherence of our digital consumption streams, removing all of the noise from your websites and social platforms, and honing in on exactly what you want.”
