Hi subscriber,

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.

My seven-year Bible reading program has me in Numbers right now.

Israel rebels against God in Numbers 13 and 14. They doubt God, rebel, and want to go back to Egypt. They want to reverse the Exodus!

God tells Moses that he’s going to disinherit them before Moses intercedes for the people. He pleads with God based on his character, and God relents. But the people still suffer: everyone 20 and over is told they will die in the wildnerness. The unfaithful spies die immediately. And Israel is defeated in battle.

But then Numbers 15 begins with these amazing words: “The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving you…’”

Despite their rebellion, God isn’t finished with them yet.

God’s love is relentless, and I’m grateful.

“He has forced open a door that has been locked since the death of the first man. He has met, fought, and beaten the King of Death. Everything is different because He has done so. This is the beginning of the New Creation: a new chapter in cosmic history has opened.”

(C.S. Lewis)

Movement Seminary is offering a free intensive on Christian Ethics, which is of obvious relevance right now.

Movement Seminary: Christian Ethics Intensive

The apostle Paul calls Christians to “discern what is pleasing to the Lord”. In obedience to this command, the discipline of Christian ethics trains believers how to act in their circumstances in light of what God has revealed about his will. These intensives will train us how to make wise ethical decisions and examine several challenging contemporary issues.

Teacher: Andrew Fulford (Ph.D, Cand.). Andrew is also a published author in the area of Christian ethics.

Cost: $0 (This is an opportunity for your elders or those who are considering further training for ministry to engage material at a deeper level).

Date: May 14, 21 from 9-5pm

Location: Zoom (and in person in Montreal)
