Hi subscriber,

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.

I’ve been thinking about Balaam’s words this week:

“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19)

In the Ancient Near East, gods were known to change their minds. You had to hope that you caught them on a good day.

God isn’t like that. He never has a bad day. He is utterly reliable. We can completely depend on him.

Don’t go to church to be entertained.

Don’t go to receive a spiritual jolt.

Don’t go to meet a quota.

Don’t go to keep God happy.

Don’t go because you “feel” like it.

Go because you need it. You need your family, and they need you. Go because the Savior you share is worth it.

I appreciate the book Managing Leadership Anxiety by Steve Cuss.

Steve has just listed a new project on Kickstarter: The Calm, Aware, Present Journal. Check it out if you’re interested.
Thanks for reading!
