Hi subscriber,

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.
A THOUGHT

I’m teaching a course next week called “The Leader’s Spiritual Growth.” I just finished reading submissions from students on what they learned from a seasoned leader who’d stayed faithful over decades. How did that leader choose to grow? Where were they tested? How did they overcome temptations? What can we learn from that leader for our own lives?

I’m encouraged.

Only one of the leaders is well-known. All struggled. Most of them served in relative obscurity. But all were faithful.

Once in a while we need to step back from all the bad news and look at those who serve God well. Skip the bad news today, and gain encouragement from those who are serving faithfully all around you.
A QUOTE

“We must have only one aim. Had we plenty of time, we might try two or three schemes at once, though even then we should most probably fail for want of concentrating our energies; but as we have very little time, we had better economize it by attending to one thing. The man who devotes all his thought and strength to the accomplishment of one reasonable object is generally successful. My soul, bend thyself down, and lay thyself out for the glory of God; be this the one aim of thy entire being.”

(Charles Spurgeon)
A RESOURCE

The Gospel Coalition has assembled an impressive list of essays on all kinds of topics. I’ve got it bookmarked for reference. So much that’s helpful here. Check it out.
Thanks for reading!
