Hi subscriber,

Here's a thought, a quote, and a resource I wanted to share with you this Thursday.

Last month I prayed, for the first time in my life, that God would allow us to go to Florida for a vacation this coming winter.

Just a few hours later, I had an online meeting with someone who lives in Florida. “Come down and visit!” he said. “We’d love to have you. Seriously!”

I’ve never prayed that prayer before. I’ve also never received an invitation to Florida like that before. The fact that both happened so close to each left me amazed.

One of my mentors says that God gives us “love deposits,” small tokens of affection. I laugh at his term, but I think of it often. It’s not like God answers prayers like that all the time, but once in a while he surprises and amazes us with not-so-subtle evidence of his love.

“Whatever we have, we have because God in his grace and generosity has given it to us. When we realize this, there comes into our lives a joyful gratitude for what we do have, and we are freed from resentment and anxiety over what we don't have.”

Kevon Cheung has written a really useful book on getting the most out of Twitter. I’ve read it twice, and I plan on interviewing him later this month. If you’re interested, check out his book Find Joy in Chaos on Kindle or Gumroad.
Thanks for reading!
